The already impressive BMW M5 has been cranked up to a brutal 713bhp by German tuner Manhart in a move to boost the power appeal of the super saloon.
The near-600bhp BMW 5 was apparently considered a little tame, and the new version – called the Manhart MH5 700 – has been juiced up to provide a more potent package and a bolder carbon body kit.
The M5’s twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 has been boosted from 592bhp to 713bhp and from 553lb-ft of torque to 641lb-ft, with Manhart upgrading the engine control unit. It accelerates from 62-124mph in 5.9 seconds while an aggressive diffuser enhances the car’s aerodynamics.
Aesthetic modifications include new front and rear carbon spoilers along with a stainless-steel exhaust, while the gold stripe and gold-rimmed alloys add a dash of exuberance.
“This is a dynamic power upgrade of the highest order,” said Pasquale Failla, Business Development Manager at Harrington Luxury Car Finance. “Manhart have an excellent reputation as a tuning company and they have done an outstanding job without compromising any of the superb traction and driveability of the BMW M5.”
